After the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, 2010 many of the countries hospitals and clinics were destroyed leaving the population with nowhere to turn for healthcare. The absence of infrastructure compromises healthcare facilities, and 60% of the population lacks access to basic health care services. There have also been significant water and sanitation problems. As of 2009, 45% of the population lacked access to safe water and 83% did not have access to proper sanitation.
HAC-Haiti's Public Health programs wouldn't exist without our valued partners who help us deliver clean water buckets to our communities, provide vitamins to our school children and their mothers, and offer first response and EMT certification courses at our community center
